Allocation policy

Hemvist Förvaltning is the landlord of the house: it owns the building, handles the technical operation and collects the rent. All tenancy agreements are personal.

The Kollektivhuset Rudbeckia association works for the community in the house. Because the house is for people who want to live collectively, the association approves every new tenant and then recommends them to the landlord for a contract. The relationship with the property owner is governed by the management agreement.

When an apartment becomes vacant:

  1. The offer first goes to the association’s resident members who want to swap apartments.
  2. Second, the offer goes out to the association’s friend members.
  3. Third, the offer goes out to other people recommended by the association.
  4. Fourth, the apartment goes to general allocation in Hemvist’s own queue and possibly bostad.uppsala.se.

The association takes several criteria into account when allocating; queue points are one of them and can be decisive when there are several applicants. You get ONE queue point per year of membership, whether you are a friend member or a resident member. When you move in or swap internally, your queue days are reset.
